stuff we drool about

Earle Ducati Scrambler

A designer for Audi by day, LA-based Alex Earle is known better in motorcycling circles for his street-tracker inspired custom Ducatis. He first caught our attention with the awesome project The Alaskan, and later with a lighter version, The Alaskan Junior. The Earl Motors latest creation is this middleweight adventure bike with all the necessities and none of the frills. Starting with a 2018 Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled, this very cool build was given a signature swing-arm extender, a kevlar skid plate, a suite of crash bars, hand-guards, off-road auxiliary lights, and a hand-formed six-gallon extended-range fuel cell supplemented by an axially tank in the tail. Other eye-catching details include a new brownish livery, an LED headlight set behind a vintage-style yellow lens, a slimmed-down dual-sport seat, and MX-style fenders front and aft. The end result is a supremely practical machine, designed for long distance, off-road expeditions.

1978 PORSCHE 911 SAFARI

An off-road Porsche! We love this, partially because its just cool looking and partially because it drives automotive purists up the wall. This spectacular 1978 Porsche 911 was transformed into an off-roading beast by Makellos Classics, a full-service Porsche specialist from San Diego, California. Numerous upgrades were made to this vehicle to transform it from regular road-going coupe, to the brute of a off-roader it is today. Work included custom-fabri...
